Not a great swimmer! We have positions for you to work, and we will work with you to improve your swimming to pass the test!

The Des Moines Pool Metropolitan Pool District (District) continually builds a high-quality workforce, fosters a positive work culture, and promotes a learning environment. Training and certifications are available to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service to our District and surrounding communities.
The District is continually looking for committed individuals to join our team. We have many opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. All current opportunities are listed below. Your application will be kept on file for one year, and you may be contacted as positions become available.

The District continually offers Lifeguard and Swim Instructor Certifications. We are building an interest list for potential candidates. Exact dates and times for all classes are to be determined. All participants must be able to meet the following physical requirements:

- Front Crawl, Back Crawl, Breaststroke, Elementary Backstroke, Sidestroke – 25 yards
- Butterfly – 15 yards
- Back float for 1 minute (floating or sculling)
- Tread water for 1 minute
