Schedule
The Mount Rainier Pool is divided into two halves by a movable bulkhead. Both sides can have a six-lane 25-yard pool, with the other half as a 15-yard pool. The deep end reaches a depth of 12 feet and has two diving boards, while the shallow end is 3 feet to 3.5 feet. The pool temperature is 83-85 degrees. It was built in 1975 as part of the Forward Thrust Movement. The pool is the home site for the Mount Rainier Swim and Dive Teams, all Highline School District Dive Teams, and the Seattle Metropolitan Aquatics Team. In 2018, a new pool shell was added with improvements for water quality and an additional ADA lift for access to both sides of the pool.

SPECIAL HOURS (SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21): The Mount Rainier Pool will have special hours on Sunday, September 21 in celebration of its 50th Anniversary. The pool will not have its regular hour, but will have a special dedication starting at noon, and a free public swim from 1-3pm. More information coming soon.
SUNDAY FREE YOUTH SWIMS (AUG 31-OCT 25): Thanks to support from the Des Moines Legacy Foundation, we’re able to offer FREE Youth Sunday Swims this fall (Sundays, August 31 – October 25, 11:30am–1:00pm). FREE to all youth ages 0-17.
FALL SWIM MEETS: The Highline School District Swim and Dive Teams will practice at the Mount Rainier Pool from 3-6pm August 25 through mid-February. We will host five Fall swim meets on September 11 & 18 and October 4, 14 & 16. Some swim meets go past 6pm.

FRONT DESK/CALL CENTER HOURS
Below are Front Desk/Call Center Hours through September 14, 2025. Messages left after hours will be answered the next business day. Call 206.824.4722 to reach the front desk.

SWIM TEAM PRACTICES AND MEETS
The Mount Rainier Pool annually hosts swim practices and meets for the Mount Rainier High School Swim Team and combined Highline School District Dive Team. The practices are weekdays from 3-6pm and run August 25 to mid-to-late February.
There will also be swim meets that run the following days from 3-6pm, and sometimes may run late. The Fall 2025 swim meet dates are September 11 and 18, and October 4, 14 and 16.
The pool is proud to host the practices and meets that help children develop youth and physical fitness among other benefits.
