OCCUPANCY/LIFEGUARD RATIO

The Mount Rainier Pool has an occupancy of 93 (in the water) set by the Fire Marshall. The District also has a minimum general rule of one lifeguard for every 25 swimmers, but this rule may be adapted due to the swimmers’ skill level and equipment with blind spots like the Wibit Obstacle Course. Staff is responsible for ensuring these standards are met. Most of these rentals have staffing built in, but additional staffing may need to be charged to ensure the safety of all participants. Lifeguards are constantly on duty during the rental, ensuring everyone’s safety, and all pool rules are given before the rental starts.

EQUIPMENT

The following equipment is available for rentals and depends on the pool area (Deep or shallow end).

  • Every rental has noodles, a diving board, and lifejackets upon request. (Note: Staff can assist in properly fitting lifejackets.)
  • Parties can also rent the following (when available):
  • Water Walk – The water walk allows users to see how far they can walk on water. It is set up at the deep end of the pool.
